Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Who will leave tonight? One celeb ‘sliding backwards’

Strictly Come Dancing 2019 has seen James Cracknell and Anneka Rice both leave already. Which couple will be the third to miss out on the Glitterball trophy this year? The judges gave some surprisingly low scores last night, meaning it could be any couple in the firing line tonight. Body language expert Judi James has shared her thoughts with Express.co.uk ahead of tonight’s results show.

Judi said: “So far this series the dance-offs have been boringly predictable, with poor James Cracknell, Anneka Rice and David James all looking like the leaden-footed no-hopers versus a bunch of celebrities busy getting some of the highest early scores of the show’s history.

“This was the week when ex-goalie David should have joined the others in an early exit, leaving dad-dancing comedy turn Mike Bushell’s hopes of staying next week prime for popping too.”

However, things have changed, as Judi detailed: “Last night though the judges threw out a voting curved ball, leaving viewers with what might have been the most puzzling and controversial leader board ever.

“Pro dancers Neil Jones, Dianne Buswell and Janette Manrara will all be struggling to keep their previous potential winners Alex Scott, Dev Griffin and Will Bayley’s heads above water after some mercilessly low scores, while the judges appeared to be happily heaping encouragement and points on the likes of David James and Mike Bushell, who were labelled the ‘miracles’ of the night for finally peeling their feet of the floor and getting stuck into some serious hoofing.

“Both guys deserved credit for trying but did Mike really deserve to be higher on the leader board than Michelle Visage and did David really deserve better scoring than super-talented ‘one duff night’ Dev?”

Judi predicts a shock night ahead, and said: “The bonus for the producers is that there will be more chances of a shock result tonight, with celebs who were previously seeming to be finger-tip distance from the glitter ball prize now needing to pack their bags for a potential exit instead.

“Being brutal in terms of genuine dance potential then it probably should be David James, Chris Ramsey and Mike Bushell in the dance-off firing line, but viewer-power could well mean David gets his moment of glory by not having to perform again tonight.

“His ‘miracle’ improvement could leave the celebrities who dipped last night vulnerable, which means Alex Scott, Dev Griffin, Michelle Visage, Catherine Tyldesley and even a visibly crushed Will Bayley could all be in danger.

“This could lead to a shock exit tonight if the home audience pick up on the mood of encouraging the under-dogs.”

So which is the couple Judi thinks will actually leave? She picked out one name – and noted another celebrity who has lost their early potential.

She revealed: “If David and Mike really do ride their tide of judge’s favour and Alex, Dev, Michelle, Will and Catherine are forgiven for one slightly duff night I’m going to pick Chris Ramsey as making a possible exit.

“After all this peculiar shake-up and disruption though it’s poor Alex Scott the celebrity currently sliding gently backwards after starting the show with what should have been the most potential to win.”

Who does Judi think will win overall? She picked out one particular couple to life the Glitterball trophy this year.

Judi explained: “Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse currently look unstoppable for a win and behind all the Benny Hill-style drooling over Kelvin’s Rhumba last night it was possible to see the body language clues during his training sessions that might reveal exactly why he is so good.

“While many of the celebrities seem to be focused on either the cameras around them or their own reflections in the rehearsal room mirrors Kelvin’s eye-expression suggests he is internally focused, sending commands to every part of his body about movement, synchronisation and timing.”
