Jose Mourinho considers Man Utd transfer raid as Ed Woodward sets £15m asking price | Football | Sport

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho is considering a move for Nemanja Matic after Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward set an asking price of £15million for the midfielder. According to Metro, Mourinho would be keen to reunite with Matic once more in north London after their time together at Chelsea and United.

The Sebia international has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford as he has only made five appearances this season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to a series of injuries and lack of form.

The 31-year-old hasn’t played for almost two months and Solskjaer appears keen to sanction his departure from Manchester.

Matic’s contract runs out in June and could leave for free at the end of the season with a number of suitors lining up for his signature, such as Juventus and Inter Milan.

But, according to The Sun, United will look to get some funds back when the transfer window reopens in January as they splashed £40m to sign him from Chelsea in 2017.

Mourinho is reportedly keen to jump on that opportunity and bring the Serbian back to his side at Tottenham.

The Portuguese manager recently replaced Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs following a run of poor results in the Premier League.

The ex-Real Madrid manager had a lot of success with Matic at Chelsea as they won a Premier League title together.
