Boris JohnsonPension row: ‘Are you going to help us?’ Angry WASPI woman hits out at Boris | UK | News

Boris Johnson was attacked by a WASPI woman, a state pension campaigner, during the debate as she asked what the Prime Minister is going to do about the issue.  State Pension ages for women have increased in recent years as groups fight to get the retirement age back to 60 with one campaigner revealing the harsh impact the age increase has had on 1950s women. The retirement age for women rose to 65 to bring it into line with men and will go up to 66 by 2020, and 67 by 2028.

The WASPI campaigner said: “I’m speaking from the WASPIs and you know who the WAPSIs are.

“You made statements to help and take that forward.

“Are you still in that frame of mind? Are you going to take this pension issue forward?”

Mr Johnson responded: “The WASPI issue as everybody knows is very difficult problem caused by the pension age change.

“I do sympathise deeply with the position of the WAPSI women and we have looked at it and I would love to say to magic you a solution.

“It is very expensive to come up with the solution that you want.

“I’m going to be honest with you, I can’t promise I’m going to magic up that money for you.”

The campaigner added: “You do realise Brexit is costing the same.”

Mr Johnson continued: “It is not possible to satisfy all the demands of the WASPI women,

“I will put my hands up and confess that.”
